01A Watch thought is not appearing on iPhone
The Watch keeps a local pending copy until the paired iPhone can receive and transcribe it or you cancel the capture.
- Keep Bluetooth and Wi-Fi enabled on both devices.
- Open Thought Inbox once on iPhone and Watch.
- On iPhone, open Connection Doctor and run the test.
- Use Retry Waiting Thoughts if anything remains pending.
02Microphone or Speech Recognition permission
Watch microphone access is needed for Watch capture. The paired iPhone needs Speech Recognition to turn the transferred temporary recording into text. Open Settings on each device and allow the permission for Thought Inbox.
03The shortcut is missing on Apple Watch
A personal Shortcut and an app action are different. Add Capture Thought to My Shortcuts on iPhone, enable Show on Apple Watch, allow sync time, and reopen the Watch gesture or Action button picker.
04Hands-free capture with AssistiveTouch
On supported Apple Watch models, assign a hand gesture to the personal Capture Thought shortcut and another gesture to Tap so you can launch and stop the app-owned recording flow. Watch availability and gesture names depend on Apple hardware and settings.
05AI Cleanup and subscription restoration
Capture, local storage, Watch sync, search, editing, and export are intended to remain available without the cleanup entitlement. Use Restore Purchases in Settings while signed into the Apple Account that made the purchase. AI Cleanup sends only selected text, never an audio recording.
